zurück zur Homepage4. ProKid® - sets of fitting golf clubs with only one dynamic lie test.

In our case, the range of club sizes for kids’ clubs is from 23 to 33, which in turn requires three sizes of measuring club: one each for sizes 25, 28 and 31. The components come from TWGT, i.e. Tom Wishon Golf Technology, Durango, Colorado, USA. The individually-available golf clubs with respective lie and loft angle specifications and club sizes for the length of the clubs are then recorded on a table: Clubsize Range - Calculated Lengths - TWGT Future pro.

Thus, the required measuring clubs can be produced. The components are simply an iron 9 for the club head and the stiffest possible steel shaft, which – for correct measuring - must not bend. The lengths for the three club sizes are marked in felt pen on the shaft (Fig. 20). They are required for fixing the measuring club in the measuring device. The lie and loft angles given in the table must be precisely checked before the measuring procedure. Measurement can then begin.

The measuring results with the measuring club for the three club sizes are the decisive uneven differences of the contact lines on the soles of the club heads according to the correct golf club lengths as per the dynamic lie test. These are each recorded on a table: Measuring - Result Club Size 25, Club Size 28, Club Size 31. In turn, these tables from the numerical guideline for printing the three different templates, i.e. the templates for club size 25 (Fig. 21), club size 28 (Fig. 22) and club size 31 (Fig. 23).

Together with the club heads, the component manufacturer must supply the club maker with these templates, as appropriate. The club maker will then have no problem making the test clubs. Then, after measuring the club head speeds both for woods and irons, in order to determine the correct shafts, and after measuring the hands for the correct grip strength, the correct test club for the kid can be produced and the dynamic lie test carried out.

The correct golf club lengths for the test clubs can be read from the table: Club Size Range - Calculated Lengths TWGT Future pro.

Table: Customer Name

The club maker keeps the test and measurement results in a further table: Customer Name. The clubs are then produced according to the specifications, in observance of the tip trim values recommended by the component manufacturer but without immediately fixing together, as the head weight of one of each club must still be measured and fitted by weight. The swing weights of the individual clubs are achieved either by adding hosel weights of 2g to 9g, or with lead/tungsten powder. Finally, the clubs can be fixed and sufficiently dried. Then the grips are fitted.
